Thinking Outside the Box
Posted Wednesday, January 07, 2009 in Business, Make money
Affiliate marketing is great money. More money than some people can ever imagine making. When I first started in 2004, I was simply amazed when I hit my first four digit day after a couple weeks of tinkering around and networking with others. I was used to slowly building up SEO empires and nice ROI from Yahoo Publisher Network or Google AdSense - this quick money was invigorating. 5 years later, I've hit a plateau. Ever ask yourself these questions; Who is paying you? Who's paying them? Networks take their 10-25% margin, and obviously the advertisers pay them. Who is really making the most money? Being an affiliate can stagnate after awhile, especially in social advertising. Make a landing page, next think you know there are 5 clones and bids are going up. I don't get upset, its just part of the game. Think about those Acai diet advertisers, with the 90$ a month rebills. Think of the networks, taking a 25% margin after adjusted rates. If you ask me, there are too many hands in my money, and we're making these advertisers too rich off our capital. I've had enough of it. 2009 will be a new year, with new operations already in the works. I've build up enough money and friends over the years to break out of the affiliate marketing circle, and it's my time. Think bigger, and take bigger risks. If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough. Thinking Outside the Box
Ryan will shine harder, grind harder.
